“A video game that is virtually limitless!” The tagline of the article jumped out at me. The article continued, “to visit every planet within this virtual universe would take 585 BILLION years!” Clicking on the link, I read a fascinating article about a new game that was coming out which had a massive universe that you could explore.

It got me thinking, how big must be the universe that the infinite mind of God has created? If you take a conservative estimate of the number of planets in the universe, it appears that there are at least one octillion planets in our universe. That’s 1 with 24 zeros after it.

1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

This number is so large it’s almost impossible for us to comprehend. Of these planets, it is estimated that there are 50 sextillion habitable planets (that’s 5 with 22 zeros after it).
If we were to stop at every possible habitable planet, pausing for only a second, it would take us 1.6 Trillion years to visit every single habitable planet in the universe.

If we were to stay on each planet for a little over a year? You’ll need over 505 Quintillion years. We will need an eternity, just to visit the vastness of the space that God has created!

Oh, heaven is not going to be boring. There is an infinite variety for us to enjoy. I love how David put’s it in Psalms 8

“O Lord, Our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, ‘What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?”Psalms 8

What are we, in the vastness of the universe, to be considered significant to God? It’s not that He isn’t busy!

Hebrews 1:3 He, “upholding all things by the word of His power.”

The universe is upheld on a daily basis by the power of God. And just as any earthly kingdom, requires the attention of the monarch to run, so the heavenly universe, needs the attention of the governing councils of heaven—and the king himself, to operate.

Daniel 7:10 tells us that there are at least 101 MILLION beings within the throne room of God. That’s a conservative estimate. Some estimate the number could be far higher—in the Trillions
No wonder the capital of God is 1.4 million square miles, and that’s not including the 1200 miles it stretches into space (that’s 1.7 Billion Cubic miles for those who want the volume).

When our planet rebelled, it would have been far easier to wipe us off the map then to bother with the mess we created through rebellion.

An author I highly appreciate, speaking of the rebellion of our planet says, that if God had chosen to destroy our world, it wouldn’t have even been a drop in the universe.

And yet, as incredulous as it sounds, we are the LOVED of God.

He left all—to come down to a broken, rebellious planet to attempt to save us. Paul, breaks it down well.

“…But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”Philippians 2:5

Wonder oh heavens, be astonished oh earth, the King of glory, stepped down, down, down from the vastness of space; and came to tabernacle with man.

Dying the despicable death on the cross so that, as the Apostle Paul says,

And [WE] you, who once were alienated and enemies in [our] your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled. Colossians 1:21

Think of what He has given up. Think of what He has paid for us. What wondrous Love is this?! That the King of Glory should love me so. There is so much else that should be weighing down his mind, and yet, He cares for me as if I was the only person in the entire universe.

Where are you?

Do you understand that God loves you more than anything else?

“For God so loved the World that He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Yes WE ARE LOVED

For 1 in 50 Sextillion planets, God has put the entire universe on HOLD—FULL STOP—to save the one world in rebellion.

He is doing all He can to SAVE you!
