The Lansing Church’s first Renové health program was held from October 6 through November 11 with nearly two dozen participants from the church and community. During this six-week life-style transformation program, attendees learned and practiced key principles to improve their physical and mental health.
Topics included eating healthy breakfasts, cultivating positive attitudes, maximizing immune system health, finding freedom from harmful habits, and much more. Demonstrations and samples of nutritious dishes such as “chicken” salad sandwiches, minestrone soup, cashew oat waffles, and apple crisp proved that healthful eating can be delicious!
Health screenings at the beginning and end of the program showed that participants lost more than 5 pounds on average and lowered their blood pressure by an average of 13 points. Attendees reported that they were able to reduce or eliminate blood pressure medications, dramatically lower their cholesterol levels, reverse diabetes and improve chronic pain.
