While living in East Tennessee, my wife and I experienced a day of significant turbulence. I worked in North Alabama the week that over 50 tornadoes tore through the Southeast, leaving unprecedented damage. I was glad that my wife was unharmed.
Our house, however, didn’t fare so well. Tornadic winds blew over a large tree, destroying the deck, storm door, security door, and part of the roof. My first thoughts were turbulent and angry, and the Holy Spirit called me to rejoice in God always. I rather woodenly told my wife, “Praise God, a tree hit our house.” Then, the Spirit prompted me to think of what was damaged. I realized that I already wanted to replace everything but the roof! Wow, thank you Jesus! The roof? At just over ten years old, insurance regulations mandated the entire roof be replaced, a bigger blessing!
The experience helped teach us to trust God IN the turbulence, not just to look back afterward.
Strong Tower Radio [STR] has been experiencing turbulence. Health struggles, volunteers no longer able to serve, and by mid-summer, we faced a $35,000 financial shortfall. We sent a letter to our supporters, and they’re responding generously, praise God! Over $30,000 has been given so far!
Of our monthly newsletter recipients, about 500 are yet to make their first financial gift to STR. This presents an excellent opportunity for those 500 people. Think of the impact when each person gives $25/month! That’s $12,500/month toward connecting soul-hungry listeners with the “Truth” proclaimed on STR!
Many listeners are contacting STR or visiting their local Seventh-day Adventist church, desiring to know the God they hear about on STR. With your prayers and financial support, STR will continue reaching more seeking hearts with the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ!
